The formative years come at such an early age. Where our children attend grade school is a very serious decision and we respect that it is a very personal one. In this section we’d like to offer some valuable information about our grade school that we hope you’ll take a moment to consider.
Education is important as we are guided towards a goal in life. So how much more important is a Christian Education? A place where children are developed spiritually and a safe place to develop emotionally. A place where children are challenged intellectually and a place where they are encouraged to have fun. A place where children find hope for today and hope for tomorrow.
By the time our children reach the approximate age of six they are off to school. Where they attend will shape them the rest of their lives. We offer a place that is safe, a place where they can develop in an atmosphere of love and acceptance. A place that is truly Christian. Why can I say this? It’s because of our staff.
Please allow me to give you a brief introduction. Our Principal is Tracy Lang. Tracy is a young woman who loves leading the school and the staff. The interesting thing about Tracy is that she knows where she is going. The staff responds to her and loves her ideas and her spirit. Tracy is also our 6th - 8th grade school teacher and the children love her!
Our 3rd - 5th grade teacher is Kathy Westermeyer. I was on the committee that called Kathy to join us from California. As I checked out her references, I was told over and over that Miss Westermeyer was the best grade school teacher in the area. Students and parents cried as she left that area and came to join us at Kelso-Longview Adventist School.
Our Kindergarten - 2nd grades are taught by Judy Ziegele. Once you meet Judy you realize that you
are in the presence of one who has committed her life to children. She is a committed Christian who loves children with all of her heart and one who brings abundant energy to the classroom every day. She is always the first one in the school and the last one to leave -- and she commutes 45 miles each day. She represents the heart and soul of the commitment each of the staff bring to the school.
We also offer P.E. and music instruction for the children.
